![]() ![]() Vehicular damage seems to be a good way to deal with zombies, however why not have the ability if you have the means to repair damage to the engine and such to reinforce them as well, such as with window screens or ram guards? Now that you have to worry about fuel too wouldn't you want to stuff that truck to the brim with your acquired goodies? Sorry but in a bed like that, given its size, you could easily double if not triple that number and just have the characters prioritize sitting in the cab. But it still doesn't mean I was annoyed that by default a modern short-bed truck could only fit 6 rucksacks in the first game. I'm not saying give me something like a Juggernaut Suit from the Call of Duty series, but something like what you see on riot police or modern military even some of the gear from the Rainbow Six Vegas series seems feasible. Never really struck me why a bunch of survivors wouldn't want something like the military plate carrier to prevent those pesky Zeds from biting and clawing you apart. I'm a sucker for the idea of using military gear, even scavenged, as a means to survive. I mean, I know it seems stupid, but washing those by hand would remove most of the threat of infection through absorption by the skin. I never understood why after killing some of those Armored Zeds or SWAT Zombies that your survivors never re-purposed some of that gear. That was one thing that I absolutely fell in love with the original game was the absolutely HUGE selection of weapons you could come across. If they aren't already in the game at launch that is. which for some reason I found to be very pleasing to use. The guns from the first game, and the special items seen in YOSE, especially the Sparta Sword. ![]() Will it be more friendly than the first game to modders? Will we be able to freely change and create our own characters and introduce weapons to the game? Here's what I would love to see. What I wanted to do though was open up a few topics to discuss among my peers who are looking forward to State of Decay 2. Surviving in the original and YOSE (yes, I bought both) was a blast and now here's what we know we can do. Killing freaks also counts towards this, and although State of Decay's hordes need improvement, they are great for getting a lot of freak kills quickly. So looking back at what we have seen thanks to the IGN First Look having a month-long special and the bits of video and media that Undead Labs has given us I can say that I am actually insanely excited for State of Decay 2. After this, IzzBee will have to earn the Hero Community Standing by completing quests and destroying Plague Hearts. Players will eventually receive the quest to help IzzBee, who can then be recruited. The 8th and final outpost slot can only be obtained by playing the Heartland DLC, accessed from the main menu. If they don’t have this skill, players can refuse to recruit them and have their prestige refunded. The contractor will need to have the ‘Hacking’ Quirk Skill for players to get an extra outpost slot. Use the radio to call in the Red Talon Contractors in the main game, and then check their skills. It can be found from the main menu, and players need to earn 2750 Prestige from playing in this DLC to unlock Red Talon Contractors in the main campaign. A clear indicator of where items like the Computer textbook are located would go a long way in making an open world environment more enjoyable.ĭaybreak is a horde mode that leans more into the action and horror elements in State of Decay 2. This requires players to have a Trade Leader appointed, and a Large Outdoor Slot available.įinding the textbook is a little convoluted, and fans are hoping State of Decay 3 will have a better open world. If players aren’t finding the Computers Textbook while searching, they can build a Trade Depot in their base, which lets them call in a Parts Trader or Network Trader who is more likely to sell it. Although they are rare, this trader sells the Computer textbook. The book can be found anywhere on the map while searching containers or trading with survivors, but it is more likely to be found in libraries or offices.īe sure to check the map for any limited-time traders who appear as ‘Network Trader’ in the mission description. If no survivor has this skill, players will have to find a person with the skill and recruit them, or search for a Computer textbook that lets them teach the skill to somebody with an empty skill slot. ![]()
